Guide Training

We offer training to all levels of guides and instructors. Our general training courses are designed to help those outdoor group leaders (church groups, Scout Masters, school programs, etc) be more proficient when working with their teams. Our guide training courses are AMGA courses designed for rock climbing instructors and guides who are on their way to making climbing a career.

General Training

We offer general training courses to outdoor leaders who would like professional instruction on the international standards and practices used in climbing instruction and guiding, but are not interested in or do not have enough experience yet for AMGA programs and certification.

We can build these courses to train you in the skills you are looking for on an individual basis. Some skills we frequently teach are:

Top Rope Facilitators Course - a three day program covering natural      anchors for top-roping and the group management skills required      along with it.

Single Pitch Facilitators Course - a two day program for those who      use artificial gear for anchors and also lead routes with their students.

AMGA course and exam preparations - if you are interested in, or      scheduled to take an AMGA course or exam and would like to brush      up on some skills before attending, we can help you review and      prepare for it.

AMGA AMGA Programs

We offer AMGA courses in the following programs:

Climbing Wall Instructor - a two-and-a-half day program (20 hours) involving instruction, skills demonstration and evaluation. It addresses the basic technical skills and teaching skills necessary to manage an instructional program at a climbing facility.

Single Pitch Instructor - a three day course (and separate two day exam) designed for those rock climbers who are looking for the skills to teach rock climbing to novices in a single pitch setting.

Rock Instructor - a ten day course designed to take a proficient rock climber and develop the skills necessary to guide in single and multi-pitch terrain. It covers all rock terrain up to grade III, 5.10a
