Climbing with Alpine Endeavors during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Alpine Endeavors Client COVID Information
Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Alpine Endeavors' main concern has been the health and well-being of our guides, clients, and communities. We ceased operations prior to the executive order, and now that we’re reopened, we have comprised a COVID-19 operations plan to help reduce risk to clients and guides. Below is some information you should be familiar with before booking a trip with us.
Prior to Booking
• Please review the information on our COVID-19 screening procedures, policies, and updated risk documents. Let us know if you have any question on any of them or anything else about the trip.
Before Your Trip
Be aware that First aid / Basic Life Support procedures have been modified to increase personal protection over patient care, CPR if needed, will be compression only.
Notify us if you are in the high risk category and have any concerns. Higher risk is currently listed as older adults (>60 years) and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions.
Once you make a reservation, we will email you and everyone enrolled in your party our Pre-Trip COVID-19 Questionnaire. You should complete this pre-trip screening within 48hrs prior to the start of your trip.
After completing the pre-trip screening questionnaire and prior to the start of your trip, if your responses change, contact us as soon as possible.
As of February, 10, 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the indoor mask-or-vaccine requirement will be lifted and will remain optional for businesses, to enforce.
For any transport with Alpine Endeavors, or client transport of guides, all clients must wear a mask or provide proof of vaccination whenever we drive in a vehicle.
Any clients who are traveling from another state need to be aware of any travel restrictions for NYS.
As of June 25, 2021 - the New York State Travel Advisory is no longer in effect. As such, travelers arriving in New York are no longer required to submit traveler health forms.All travelers, domestic and international, should continue to follow all CDC travel requirements.

Unvaccinated individuals need to continue to be responsible for wearing masks, in accordance with federal CDC guidance. Consistent with the State's implementation of the recent CDC guidance, masks are still required for unvaccinated individuals.
All clients should complete the pre-trip screening and sign an acknowledgment of policies in order to participate in a trip. In the event that a client fails the pre- trip screening, rescheduling will be discussed according to our updated rescheduling policy (see Cancellation Policy for COVID-19 below).
Be sure to bring the items from the “What to Bring” list below in addition to those included in the confirmation email.
Each Day During your Trip
Clients and guides may wear a face covering during the start of each day when indoors if the business requires it and should maintain 6 feet of physical distance from others when possible.
Unvaccinated individuals are required to wear masks indoors. Outdoors masks should be worn whenever social distancing it not possible.
We recommend washing your hands with soap and water, or use at least 60% alcohol hand sanitizer after touching common surfaces and gear, especially before eating, drinking or touching your face, if possible.
Trips may be ended early if guide feel clients fail to abide by our policies.
After your Trip
Clients and guides should notify Alpine Endeavors as soon as possible if they are confirmed to have COVID-19 within 14 days of being on a trip. In the event of being informed that a client or guide is confirmed to have COVID-19 within 14 days of being on a trip, Alpine Endeavors will notify all who were in direct contact with that individual. To the extent possible, identity will be kept confidential.
What to Bring
At least one face covering per person - a face covering that can be connected to your helmet (like the Outdoor Research Essential Face Mask), or a buff style covering, is recommended for multi-pitch climbing. Alpine Endeavors will have disposable surgical masks for anyone who needs them.
Your own hand sanitizer, or extra water and soap for hand washing
We are still offering use of climbing shoes, harness, and helmet. However, we encourage you to bring as much of your own gear as possible, or consider purchasing your own at the store before climbing.

Cancellation Policy Rescheduling Addendum for COVID-19
Our cancellation policies are still in effect. In the event that one or more clients in a party doesn’t meet the pre-trip screening, rescheduling will be discussed..

Pre-Trip COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire & Acknowledgment of Policies
(Please complete this within 48 hours prior to your trip start)
The following COVID-19 screening questionnaire and policies are necessary to reduce risk to Alpine Endeavors clients and guides. All clients will provide this pre-trip screening and sign the COVID Questionnaire in order to participate in a trip.
In addition, please be aware any clients who are traveling from another state need to be aware of the travel restrictions for NYS.

Are You Vaccinated?
Have you, or has anyone you have been in close contact with, tested positive for, or was suspected to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days (if in a healthcare setting, close contact is concerning only if personal protective equipment was not used)?
Have you had any COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days? These symptoms include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, muscle or body aches, headache, congestion or runny nose, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea?
Has anyone you are in close contact with had any COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days? These symptoms include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, muscle or body aches, headache, congestion or runny nose, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea?
If you selected YES to any questions above. Have you met the NYS State guidelines for Quarantine: "Individuals exposed to COVID-19 can end their quarantine after 10 days without a testing requirement as long as no symptoms have been reported during the quarantine period. After day 10 is reached, individuals must continue monitoring for symptoms through day 14 and if any develop, they should immediately self-isolate and contact the local health department or their healthcare provider to report this change and determine if they should seek testing."
After completing this questionnaire, if any of your responses change prior to your trip, notify Alpine Endeavors as soon as possible.
Acknowledgment of COVID-19 Policies
1. All individuals must wear a mask or provide proof of vaccination whenever travelling with an Alpine Endeavors guide in a vehicle.
Masks are still required for unvaccinated individuals, face coverings will be worn wherever social distancing can’t be maintain and when wearing them would not compromise safety.
2. Unvaccinated Individuals should maintain 6 feet of physical distance from others when possible. However, due to the inherent nature of hiking, climbing and skiing, this may not always be possible.
3. We recommend washing your hands with soap and water, or use at least 60% alcohol hand sanitizer after touching common surfaces and gear, especially before eating, drinking or touching your face, if possible.
4. Groups that are large enough to be subject to a local, state, or federal group size restriction will travel and congregate appropriately so as to abide by those restrictions.
5. Trips may be ended early if guide feels clients fail to abide by our policies.
