Cal sees spending time climbing as a catalyst for positive personal change. He is eager to facilitate growth of skills among those interested in climbing so they can seek their own adventures in a safe and thoughtful way. After being raised in Western New York, he found his way to the Adirondacks to study Expeditionary Studies and Journalism at SUNY Plattsburgh.
