Late-January in the Trapps learning ascending basics.

Winter Rock Skills

Don’t hang up your rock gear once winter arrives, use the time to hone your rock skills.

These days are designed around skills instead of climbing, grab your gear, put on an extra layer and focus on the things you miss during the regular season when you are knocking off the routes.

The length of day is shortened to the best time the cliff is in the sun during winter, primarily 10am - 2pm*

During the winter, we will choose dates to cover technical skill Instruction such as:

  • top rope setups

  • gear placement and anchor building

  • Efficiency tips (knots, rope work, stance management, etc)

  • rappelling and rappelling safety

  • self rescue/ascending

We are offering these are individual reservation options ($215pp/pd), and as a package for all ($895) for the season.

We operate up to a 4:1 climber to guide ratio for most situations, sometimes we can operate up to a 6:1 ratio. The maximum party size is 8 participants.

* We meet at 9:30am at Rock and Snow, we can provide loan of all technical equipment if needed - helmet, harness, and rock shoes - and the daily park passes required unless otherwise specified.
